The “Welcome” page is  actually submitted as a post for the home page of your WordPress site, which means you can add other posts on top of it or leave this message as a permanent entry.  It  serves as an introduction to entice employers and other readers to learn more about you, a critical message that can create or kill interest in your site.

As with any message, you need to consider the message’s PURPOSE (convince your reader to continue) and  AUDIENCE (employers, supporters, others interested).  Here are some samples so you can see what you think is successful, welcoming, or not likely to reflect your goals.   Once you analyze what you do or don’t like, write your own “Welcome” message and post it on your site.  Remember:  It’s only a paragraph or two that tells your reader about your site.
